Diaper Cakes

Throughout the last few years I have had the pleasure of making a few diaper cakes, and have only actually taken pictures of a few of them.  Here are the ones I have accounted for, and I'll try to remember to update this as I make more!

Neutral Farm/Lamb Diaper Cake (2017)

One of my girlfriends decided they weren't going to find out the gender of their baby.  It's not uncommon anymore, a lot of people we know are doing this now.  But for her theme, it was still more blues/turquoise and hand drawn farm animal pictures, it was actually great for both a girl or a boy (they had a handsome little boy!).  But looking for ideas, I matched my ribbon first to the closest I could find to her wall color.  I saw the lambs, and they were absolutely adorable for either boy or girl, and since there was so much turquoise/blue, I added a few flowers just to make sure she knew I wasn't picking sides.  Now for the last few years I have been giving "I love you stinky face" as part of every baby shower gift I have done as it for some reason is one of my favorites, and one of Lana's.  This time I just put it on the actual cake, instead of separate.

Baby Girl Woodland Fox Diaper Cake (2016)

This was a hard one... I wasn't sure where to start.  My sister's "theme" was kind of corals and woodland creatures, and greys and tans, yet most of the woodland things you find are catered towards more boys, or bolder colors.  So when I started finding little fox items, they sort of just popped out.  She had a lot of little fox and coral accents in the room, so it was prefect.  It started with the little fox blanket and the adorable shoes.  Then I saw the sip cup and it was meant to be.  The top has a little polka dot headband.  And then we just displayed it on the table with my homemade cupcakes.  My other sister found those cute wooden printed snack cups we used for the cupcakes.  It was a really cute shower on a nice rainy day!

Detroit Tigers Baseball Diaper Cake (2015)

When my sister in law told me she was having a little boy, I knew what I was doing.  Her and my brother in law are huge Detroit Tigers fans, and Michigan Football fans.  In fact, when deciding on a name, Cal was the perfect fit (Cal Ripken Jr.).  This wasn't exactly my first diaper cake, just the first one I actually thought of taking a picture of.  At this point I had a one year old and really didn't think about the diapers I was using until afterward when I realized hmmm... the green diapers kind of look like green of the field???  All in all, not bad if I do say so myself!

Note:  I'm just adding diaper cakes as I make them... I'm kind of new at this whole blog thing.
